Avec un genre donné, certains groupes vont le révolutionner tandis que d'autres vont le perfectionner : Lycanthia fait le second. Oligarchy, deuxième et ultime album du sextette australien, est une perle de death/doom metal gothique qui utilise violon et chants féminins et évite les écueils classiques. Le violon n'est pas qu'un faire-valoir et peut briller lors de nombreux morceaux de bravoure ; pas de styles "La Belle et la Bête" : Vanessa Black et Megan Robins ont l'ascendant. Excellent !! I was always intrigued by this group's choice of album covers, it isn't every day that you see high quality space photos in this genre despite the rise of "cosmic" black metal. But the music blew me away, this sounds like Austere took the atmospheric spacey route. (I will assume it's a coincidence that both bands are Australian) porcelainheart-
